What am I even doing with my life?

       Songs or whatever

Books!

My go-to comfort book is Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. Specifically, the audiobook that is narrated by Wil Wheaton, which I regularly check out on Libby. I have listened to this book 4 times and am currently on my fifth, but I actually used it for a book project in high school and read a hard copy. The concept is: Dystopian world (of course), and the only way people have a will to live is through this MMO that has taken over the world. The creator of this game dies and his will states that whoever can complete the nearly-impossible adventure now embedded in the game will inherit the creator's networth and control of the gaming company. This book is just word-p*rn for nerds as it references pop culture varying from the original Dungeons & Dragons, Atari video games like Adventure, and movies like Wargames. Reading had always been a little bit difficult for me as a kid, which I found out later was ADHD related, but
I watched the RPO movie first on one of my dad's custody weekends early in high school. The movie is alright, but I am an easy movie watcher, so even if it was bad, I would still probably watch it. According to my research, it passes the Bechdel test on a couple of technicalities, as there are not a ton of non-male characters, and without adding spoilers, it just doesn't really. The second book, named Ready Player Two, is just absolutely buns. As someone on Reddit put it best, "The second is a hate crime against fiction." I would bet it was an attempt at a cash grab since there really wasn't a setup for a sequel at the end of the book, and it was published a full 9 years later. Whatever.

We are so back: Dungeons and Deez Nuts

This summer I am finally getting to run a Dungeons & Dragons campaign for the first time in many year. I fear I have done more reading and writing about this campaign than I did over finals week.  #IYKYK
